Immeasurably More

The new theme for the year is "Immeasurably More". It comes from Ephesians 3:20 : “Now to [Christ] who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (NIV). 

             The Love of God is… immeasurable. Just when we think we’ve wrapped our heads around it, just when we feel like we’ve narrowed it down to a few theological concepts, something happens that causes us to take a step back and realize that the love of God is so much bigger, so much higher, deeper, wider than we ever realized.

            I’d compare it to an experience I had a few years ago when climbing San Luis mountain in the Rockies. San Luis is a "14000 footer" (or just over 4000 meters above sea level). The climb seemed to take forever. Every time we neared a ridge I thought this must be it, but it wasn’t. Then finally we reached the peak and the whole world opens up before us. I just sat there awestruck at the how much bigger everything was around me. This is like God’s love. He takes our breath away and leaves us up in arms, “wow”.

            And the power of his love transforms our lives in immeasurable ways. When this power surges through us we are able to do amazing things for God. It is the hope of the staff and council of ClearView Church that everyone in our church family and surrounding community experience the power of God’s love in immeasurable ways. A love that transforms in ways we couldn’t even imagine.
