This Sunday @ ClearView

New to ClearView Church?
Find out what you can expect at our Sunday services.

10:00 AM -- Worship Service
What’s your prayer for ClearView? This morning Pastor Henry Wildeboer will be opening God’s word and looking at what Jesus’ prayer for us is. We pray that this will not only be a blessing but a challenge for all of us today.

Church Family Announcements

Announcement from Church Council
As Council has previously advised, Pastor Joan DeVries has been granted a leave of absence until July 21.  During this time, any pastoral care matters should be referred to your Pastoral Care Elder or Pastor John Wildeboer. If you are unsure about your Pastoral Care Elder, you can contact Rita Klomps.

Council Covets Your Prayers
Council desires the help of the congregation in calling on the Lord in prayer to discern His will for this church. All are invited to join with members of Council at the Wednesday night prayer meeting, July 2nd and July 9th from 8-10 pm. We also invite those who are able, to fast from dinner those nights. It is our collective prayer that God will grant clarity.

Farewell
We say goodbye to Laurens and Gery Jonker as they transfer their membership to Heritage Fellowship Church in Brampton. Meena Ramprasad, who has faithfully served our infants and toddlers for about 6 years in the Little Lambs (Coffee Break) ministry as well as for Alpha and FitBreak, is moving to Nashville on July 19th. Her gentleness and faithfulness will be greatly missed.

Election of Office Bearers
Last week we had the privilege of acclaiming the following office bearers.

Ministry Board Elder: Edith van der Boom
Pastoral Elders:
Margaret Bootsma, Louise Edmonds, and Helena Ouwehand
Youth Elders: Andrew DeMos, Darrell van Laare, and Danielle Kamerman
Deacons:  Klaas Brobbel, John Kloosterziel, and Diane Stewart

The installation of the new Office Bearers, Lord willing, will take place next week Sunday July 6.   Retiring Office Bearers this year are:
Ministry Board Elder: John DeBoer
Pastoral Elders: Sanet Burger, Jack Jagt and Rita Klomps
Youth Elders: Jackie DeVisser, Jan Ouwehand and Cindy Schreutelkamp
Deacons: Mike Palmer, Lewis Van Es and Don Vogel

Council has also accepted the resignation of Julia Xie from her position of Deacon.  We thank God for the way that these men and women have served so faithfully during their terms in office.

ClearView Kids Camp
KIDS CAMP is fast approaching, and excitement is growing. This is a reminder to all volunteers to make sure you have registered your kids, preschool and grade 6-8 as well. We have lots of space remaining, so continue to invite your friends and neighbours!

Sea to Sea Bike Tour
Council has endorsed Herb Goodhoff as a cyclist in the 2008 Sea to Sea Bike Tour. Herb and his family moved to Oakville in 2000, and have attended Chartwell Baptist Church. His roots and those of his wife are in the Christian Reformed Church. Prior to coming to Oakville, they were members of First CRC in London and both Herb and Janet grew up in Willowdale CRC. The tour begins June 30 in Seattle, Herb will be biking in the Eastern Stage during the last two weeks of August, starting in Grand Rapids, Michigan and ending in New Jersey. The purpose of this year’s tour is to raise awareness of global poverty and raise funds to support the work

Offerings

As a church we want to give back to God’s work so we schedule a time for this in our services. If you are our guest, you are welcome to participate, but do not feel obligated.

Offering for this Sunday (June 29):
The Bible League
An evangelical, non-denominational ministry that accepts the printed word as the most effective mission and acquaints churches in Canada with the need for the printed Word in Third World countries.

Offering for next Sunday (July 6):
Ontario Alliance of Christian Schools
Responding to God’s call in achieving excellence in Christian education through Christian Schools accessible to families in each community.

Change to offering schedule.
Beginning in September, the morning collection will be for two designated causes. Since we no longer have evening services, we are having difficulty meeting all our commitments for collection requests. The “designated cause” collection envelopes are divided into two – black print for a.m. and red print for evening. We will now list the two causes in the bulletin designating “red” or “black” envelope. For example the bulletin will state CRWRC – black envelope and Benevolence – red envelope. You can give to the cause of your choice or to both by dividing your donation between the two envelopes.
