New to ClearView Church? Find out what you can expect
at our Sunday services.
| 10:00
AM -- Worship Service This past week ClearView Church was transformed
into a science laboratory where we conducted various experiments and learned important
life lessons. This morning we will be singing songs from POWER LAB and we will
be learning about a man who chased after and wrestled lions. Sound crazy? You
bet – but that’s because we have entered the POWER LAB. | Church
Family Announcements Next Sunday
-- July 20 Next Week Sunday we welcome back a guest speaker, Rev. Aubrey
Botha, the pastor at Cambridge Presbyterian Church. Aubrey spoke for us on June
15 and we welcome him. Praise and
Prayer Marnie Kersten was involved in an accident this week. She suffered
a broken rib, bruised vertebrae and cuts to her head and body. She was removed
unconscious with the jaws of life so we are thankful that her injuries were not
more serious. “[God’s] ways are too
wonderful for me” (Psalm 139). I am overjoyed that my mom, Catharine Cornelisse,
could return home this week. She is taking some quiet time to rest this week and
adjust to the side effects of the anti-seizure medication. Your prayers have been
heard by God and experienced by both my mother and myself. Thank you and Blessings.
Jacqui & Catharine Church Staff
Jacqui Cornelisse will be away from July 17th through 20th attending the Christian
Reformed Home Missions Small Groups and Evangelism Conference in Lombard, Illinois
with Nellie Smedes, Evelyn DeMos and Ann McInall. I will be checking my e-mails
and messages, so just --- well --- e-mail me or leave a message if you need me.
My brother Andy and Debra Edwards will be capably caring for my mother in my absence. Pastor
John Wildeboer will be away on vacation from July 14th to July 29th. Percussion
Ensmeble - Wednesday, July 16, 7:00 – 8:00 Ever wanted to just hit something?
Now’s your chance -come bang on a drum! David would like to invite those who are
interested to come to an evening of ‘jamming’. Anyone & any age is welcome – no
knowledge of percussion is necessary! You
may have noticed David playing a hand drum last week – it’s called a Cajon (pronounced
Ca – hon) and is a Peruvian drum. We also have a Djembe (a West African drum),
plus Claves from Cuba, Agogos (Bells from Yoruba), Shakers, Tambourines, and of
course a Cow Bell! Playing together in a percussion ensemble is incredibly rewarding
– each person plays a very simple rhythm, but when added all together it becomes
a rhythmic orchestra! Guitar Ensemble
- Wednesday July 23 from 7:00 to 8:00 Want to improve your guitar skills?
Join David for a jam session! Call him at 829-2242 x 224. Coming
this Fall on Wednesday Evenings - Dunamis We’ve talked about it at Discipleship
Committee meetings, Outreach Committee Meetings, Ministry Board Meetings. We are
excited about ClearView continuing its vision to Be and Build in the Power of
the Spirit and to the Glory of God, an outreaching church of faith, hope and love.
What is it? Why do you need to know? Coming this fall – Dunamis – in the power
of the Spirit. More information to follow. For those who cannot wait – go to www.dunamisfellowshipcanada.org
or speak to Helena Ouwehand or Jacqui Cornelisse. A
Mountain of Pennies: A Mountain of Hope This week, at ClearView Kids Camp,
we launched our campaign to build a mountain of pennies to support the work of
the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee as they fight against the injustice
that is AIDS in Africa, Asia and Latin America and fight for those affected by
HIV/AIDS, including so many children who are left orphaned and alone. We are going
to keep building this mountain all summer long and maybe even until Christmas,
so keep bringing in your pennies. See the wheelbarrow in the foyer and the insert
in this bulletin for more details. Hey Kids, even if you don’t come to this church,
drop your pennies in anytime and we’ll keep you updated on how the mountain is
growing. Job Posting The Christian
Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) has a full-time opening for a Volunteer
Coordinator in Burlington to provide support for ServiceLink - Canada. For more
information, visit www.crcna.org. To apply submit a resume and letter of interest
electronically to apply@crcna.org by July 25.
