Church Family Announcements

Next Sunday - August 24
Next week Sunday morning Pastor John will be preaching on the shortest book in the Old Testament—Obadiah. Come hear what this minor prophet has to say to us today. We will also be celebrating communion - rejoicing in thanksgiving at what Christ has done for us in his death and resurrection. We look forward to seeing you then.

Church Family
Mike Davies passed away peacefully on Thursday night. Please remember to pray for Terri and her children as they go though this difficult time of loss. More details will be given during the service this morning.

Congratulations to Opa and Oma Leo, and great-Grandma Wiersma! Donna and Bill became grandparents to Ella Marie O'Grady born on August 2nd. Ella and her parents Tara and Mike are all doing well.

Esther
The book of Esther is one that is captivating and filled with many twists and turns, happy and fearful moments, dangerous and deadly outcomes. Faith Alive has developed a pilot study on the book of Esther, designed for a ‘younger generation’ of women specifically. If anyone is interested in become a test group for this 6 week study (day or evening), please contact Jacqui Cornelisse for more information.

How have you been doing? Did you forget to keep reading over the last few weeks just like I forgot to remind you? If so then make this week catch up week. We are reading Mark 15. Remember you can read 5 chapters in less then 30 minutes. Spend some time with Jesus this week.

Young Adult Profession of Faith Class
Did you miss making profession of faith before leaving for college? Is it now years later and you would like the opportunity to ask questions in a safe, non-judgmental environment? Starting this Tuesday night at 8:00 we will be meeting at Pastor John’s house for 60 minutes to discuss whatever questions or ideas you might have and find out what it means to make profession of faith. Please feel free to come to just the first session and check it out. Also note that being a part of these discussions does not necessarily mean that you will make profession of faith.

September 14-16 is our Sr Youth Kickoff Retreat
